COMFORTED TO COMFORT OTHERS

God is comforting you today so that you too can comfort others tomorrow with the comfort which you have received from God (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us."
(2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

To comfort means to relieve the stress or to ease the suffering of someone; to make strong; to assist or help. Anyone going through distress, suffering, weakness and in need of help needs to be comforted. And real comfort comes from God Himself though He often uses humans to comfort humans.

"...In the world you will have tribulation..." (John 16:33). It is clearly stated by our Lord Jesus that as Christians we will face troubles in this world where we are pilgrims, hence the need for us to be comforted regularly by our primary Comforter - the Holy Spirit (John 14:16 KJV).

Do not be deceived by any eloquent preacher who tells you that life in Jesus is tribulation-free. LIE! The closer you follow Jesus the more your likelihood of facing troubles, but in the end your joy will be full. How it ends is what matters most!

Are you suffering a setback or an illness today? Or you are being persecuted in one way or the other? God knows about the agony you are going through at the moment, it is part of His plan and that is why He is comforting you today so that you will be equipped enough to comfort others with the comfort you have received from Him.

You could be wondering why you are being afflicted this much despite your holy life. Consider the story of the man born blind (John 9), you will understand that the Sovereign God often choses to display His works in us through unpleasant circumstances. The man was blind from birth not because he himself nor his parents had sinned. He was born blind so that "the power of God could be seen in him" (John 9:3 NLT).

Great testimonies usually emerge from great tribulations. The most effective testimonies that continually brings healing to multitudes have come from the hard times some people had in the past (Mark 5:25-34). If you are praying for God's name to be glorified in you, brace up yourself for likely unpleasant circumstances. In the end God's name will be glorified and your joy will be full.

Lazarus didn't have to been sick unto death but he did because the name of Jesus had to be glorified in him (John 11:4).

It is high time you stopped blaming the devil for your predicaments, rather focus on God and glorify Him for the marvelous works He's doing in you; and the life-changing testimonies that will emerge from your present mockery situation.

Jesus, the Beloved Son of God and Saviour of the world, "because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted, He is able to help and provide immediate assistance to those who are being tempted and exposed to suffering (Hebrews 2:18 AMP).

When trouble comes, REJOICE! I will say it again: REJOICE! (Philippians 4:4). "Dear brothers and sisters, consider it an opportunity for great joy, whenever you fall into various troubles and trials. Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace]. And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing." (James 1:2-4).

"We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. (Romans 5:3).

In your seemingly difficult situation, pray that God will give you the strength to endure the season; receive the comfort of the Holy Ghost with joy; learn all the lessons that need to be learned therein, because the Lord will comfort you and glorify Himself.

The comfort of the Lord is only available to His children. If you are not born-again, you cannot fully enjoy the comfort of God. BE BORN AGAIN!

Life may be very tough for you at the moment, bear in mind that the thoughts of God towards you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. All things, good or bad, are working together for your good (Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28).

You can only give from the abundance of what you have received. Receive the comfort of the Lord and you too can comfort others with the comfort you have received.

God bless you.
