GREEDY JUDAS

Towards the end of the ministry of Jesus, His sermons were not so much friendly but rebukeful and instructive (Matthew 23-25). I guess people were no longer giving (offerings) to His ministry like before, and by that Judas the treasurer (see John 13:29) no longer had enough money to keep both for the ministry and to himself. Meanwhile, this treasurer needed money to complete the payment of his land and start building on it ASAP, because  he was not sure whether following Jesus, who was about to be crucified, would profit him anything  (Matthew 26:2). To worsen the case for Judas the treasurer, Jesus supported the woman who was alleged wasteful by His disciples (see Matthew 26:6-13, Mark 14:3, John 12:1-8), instead of Him telling the woman to sell the oil and bring the money.  Judas had no choice but to activate Plan B since Plan A seems to be running out. Wondering what Plans A and B were?  Plan A - Judas used to help himself to what was put into the money bag, he was a thief

#ProverbToday - DECEPTIVE BEAUTY

Image
Today, many are regretting their choice of beauty above all else. They have beautiful yet vexatious wives. Rich but ruthless husbands. They've allowed themselves to be fooled by outward attractions neglecting the real deal - the fear of the Lord. "Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised." (Proverbs 31:30 NLT) ACTION: Let the fear of the Lord be your number one checklist in selecting a partner (in any life endavour). Anyone who fears the Lord will deal with you as s/he deals with the Lord. Choose the fear of the Lord above physical attractions - money, fame, beauty, that depreciate with time.  God bless you. #ProverbToday by @JedidiahKazeem

COMFORTED TO COMFORT OTHERS

Image
God is comforting you today so that you too can comfort others tomorrow with the comfort which you have received from God  (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). "All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others . When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us."  (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). To comfort means to relieve the stress or to ease the suffering of someone; to make strong; to assist or help. Anyone going through distress, suffering, weakness and in need of help needs to be comforted. And real comfort comes from God Himself though He often uses humans to comfort humans. "...In the world you will have tribulation..." (John 16:33). It is clearly stated by our Lord Jesus that as Christians we will face troubles in this world where we are pilgrims, hence the need for us to be comforted regularl

FLOWING TO REMAIN FRESH

Giving and caring for the poor, needy, vulnerable and less privileged people is the perfect will of God (Matthew 25:35-40). "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." (God). One of the things I discovered  recently  is the greedy nature of every natural human being. We want to have more but we don't want to let go of things already in our possession. We want to have new shoes and clothes but unwilling to let go of the old ones. We (unconsciously) live a life of "get all you can, can all you get, and sit on the can", forgetting that a can sealed for long will have its content rotted and stunk. The will of God is that while He blesses us, we also bless others (Genesis 12:2). God's will is for us to be a channel for blessing others, not

SUBDUE!

Dominion over the affairs of this world is your heritage. If you are not dominating at the moment, you have not started living the kind of life God wants for you. "God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." (Genesis 1:28). God created Man after He had created many other things - light, birds, fish, cattle, etc. Even though He blessed the birds and the fish to be fruitful and multiply like Man, none of His creation did He bless to "subdue the earth" except Man. Man was the only creation God blessed to  "subdue". According to the dictionary, to subdue means: to overcome, make quiet and bring under control by force. It is obvious that this word is a military word - a word of force and power. God empowered Man when He blessed them. You cannot overcome what you don't have po
